Indian Jewelry Earrings
Indian earrings handmade with sterling silver, turquoise, coral, other semi-precious stones, and different kinds of shell, give you a beautiful traditional look in Native American jewelry. The Navajo style of earrings may be made of small or large turquoise stones backed and surrounded with sterling silver.
Zuni Indian style of earrings may be made in the inlay style with geometric patterns of turquoise, coral or different color of shells. The Zuni style of Indian jewelry may also be made with many small stones made on sterling silver called the "cluster" style or "pettipoint" style. Each style requires the native craftsman to be very precise in forming the shells or stones to fit the mounting of the jewelry piece.
Unique sterling silver jewelry earrings are made with no stones but designs in silver are a very attractive earring and can be worn with all types of Indian jewelry for daily activities or special occasions.
Most Native American earrings are made for pierced ears referred to as pierced earrings. Other earring styles may be referred to as post earrings (earrings connected to the ear by a sterling wire post that goes through the ear and is connected by a backing to keep the earring in the ear), a dangle earring (a sterling silver wire hoop is connected to the earring so the main part of the earring dangles), the larger style of dangle earrings called the "chandelier" style, a hoop earring which loops around the ear, or a clip-on earring for people without pierced ears.
Traditional Indian jewelry earrings come in many sizes to meet the desires and styles of the wearer.
